NRES further support the role of service evaluation methodology

The National Research Ethics Service (NRES) have recently re-issued their guidance on the definition of research. The updated document further supports the role of service evaluation methodology by re-enforcing it's value in NHS service development and improvement. The updated guidance has also been expanded to include usual practice and surveillance work in the public health area and now provides a useful guide to differentiate clinical audit, service evaluation, research and usual practice / surveillance work in public health.
